1) Go to Manolo Brothers Deli
Busy but strangely unhurried, MBD is a brilliant sidestreet deli-cafe. Ceiling-high shelves overflow with produce – vats of oil, Mediterranean sea salt, olives and pasta – and the counter is packed with gourmet pies, quiches, tarts, imported cheeses, antipasti and cakes.
2) Sunset walk on the beach – can’t go far wrong with this for a romantic evening.
3) Nestled in a secluded haven in the heart of Burleigh Heads is David Fleay Wildlife Park. The park plays an important role in demonstrating Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service’s conservation initiatives, particularly relating to threatened species. Great venue for a fun date out.
4) Mouses House Retreat - Genuine rainforest cabins offeringa romantic retreat from hustle bustle of life. Can be a bit difficult to get there due to road closures from the floods but once there you won’t want to leave! Great pace to unwind and very private.
